Students will fill out guided notes on a power point covering Chapter 1.  Students will use the notes on an open note quiz.

The Explorer Project will be complete in class only.  Students will complete a chart that includes: dates and voyages of major European explorers.  There will be ample classtime provided to the students to allow them to complete the project. 

Students will view CNN student news and be expected to contribut to a classroom discussion about current events and how they relate to student lives.
