Pre-K and Kindergarten Screening Information
Parents of all 3 year and 4 year-old children residing in Flora Community Unit School District #35 are invited to bring their children to the district’s preschool screening. If your child is currently enrolled as a preschool student or has previously been screened you DO NOT need another screening. The program will be held on March 10th-12th at the First Christian Church, located on the corner of North Main and West Fourth Street in Flora.
How to get your child screened: Go to the Flora School website to complete the Pre-K Screening
Form and you will be contacted with a screening time for your child. If you have, any question call 618-
662-2014 and ask for Emily Glassford.
Having your child screened enables the district to begin preparations for incoming students for the 2025-26 school year. It also provides parents with helpful information on their child’s development in the areas of vision, hearing, speech, muscle coordination, and social skills. The districts’ pre-kindergarten classes are filled from those children who complete the screening process and have provided the required documentation.
All Pre-K students must have family income documentation on file in order to determine eligibility for the program. All information will be kept confidential. Thank you for your cooperation.
Please read carefully and bring the following:
1. Public Benefits Documentation- (Bring all that apply)
TANF*, WIC*, Medicaid Card*, SNAP* and CCAP (Child Care Assistance Program)
*Parent &/or Child Names and Numbers must be listed on documentation
2. Proof of Income (Required if no proof of public benefits listed above)
W-2 (Preferred) or 2 Recent Paystubs and SSI
3. Child certified birth certificate

This information along with the screening results will be utilized to determine eligibility.
