Flora CUSD #35 provides enrichment opportunities for gifted students. Eligibility for the Enrichment Program is determined by using an identification matrix. Items on the matrix include:
- Teacher identification checklist scores
- NNAT2 non-verbal ability test
- IAR scores
These scores are weighted according to the student's level of achievement and plotted on a matrix with the cut off totals listed. After initial identification, students remain in the Enrichment Program on a yearly basis until 8th grade. Scores of all district students not already in the Enrichment Program are reviewed annually for possible qualification in the program. Students in 4th and 5th grade participate in an after-school program. Junior High school students are in a before or after-school program.
