Classroom Environment
- Students will maintain respect for everyone and their property.
- This means no horseplay, no rude or foul language, and no bullying. Treat people how you would like to be treated. Do not write on the desks! Follow the student handbook!
- Be prepared for class.
- Bring your textbook, pen or pencil, binder, and be in your assigned seat on time every day. Three or more tardies will result in a discipline referral. Being unprepared for class (no pencil, textbook, binder, etc.) will be counted as a tardy in my classroom.
- Everyone will work during class time.
- Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated!
- Students will remain in the classroom until permission is given to leave the room.
- Students will be dismissed by the teacher, not by the bell. A student will not be allowed to leave the classroom without permission and having the agenda book signed by the teacher.
- Students will do their (own) work.
- Any student found cheating on a test or assignment will receive a zero unless eligible for a 24 hour extension to redo an assignment for a maximum grade of 70% D.
- Use restroom/locker/office passes wisely. You are allowed only 3 per quarter!
- Substitute teachers and visitors may be in our building from time to time. Misbehavior during these times will result in a discipline referral.
- Always do your best!
Consequences: (3 strikes and you’re out policy)
- 1st Offense: Verbal Warning from the teacher (unless the behavior warrants automatic referral to the office)
- 2nd Offense: Parent Phone Call (unless behavior warrants automatic referral to the office)-25 Minute
- 3rd Offense: Discipline Referral to the Office-45 minute detention
Classroom Supplies
Throughout the year we will be participating in numerous activities and projects that will require art supplies that will be provided by Mrs. Butler. It is very important that you abide by the following rules regarding the supplies in Mrs. Butler's room.
- Supplies are not to leave Mrs. Butler's classroom for any reason.
- Students will be respectful when using and sharing the supplies in Mrs. Butler's room.
- Students may NOT color with the fine tip sharpie markers. These markers are for outlining and lettering only.
Consequences
Any student that does not abide by these rules will receive an automatic disciplinary referral and will no longer have access to classroom supplies.
These supplies are expensive, important to our yearly tasks, and meant for ALL students to share. This is why there are specific rules for the use of these materials.
