* If your child is not going to ride the bus on a particular day please notify the transportation department.
* Your bus drivers have a great responsibility in transporting your children. They take this responsibility very seriously. Please help make their jobs less stressful by asking your child to follow all bus safety rules.
Thank you and have a great year!

Regulations for Pupils Riding School Buses
The right of all pupils to ride a school bus is dependent upon their behavior and observance of the following safety rules and regulations. The school has no obligation to transport any pupil who cannot or will not behave on the bus.
* Always be on time for bus (5 minutes prior to arrival) and be sure to dress properly for the weather.
* Never play along the roadway to your bus stop.
* Never get into a car if someone offers you a ride.
* Do not walk if you ride a bus - ride your bus.
* Always wait for your bus in a safe place, back from the road.
* Remain quiet and still at the bus stop. Do not play because someone might get hurt.
* If you drop something near or under the bus DO NOT PICK IT UP. Tell the driver or another adult and they will get it for you.
* Stay out of the "Danger Zone" (10 feet away from the bus on all sides of the bus). Motorists must also "Stay Back 10 Feet" when following or approaching a school bus.
* If you must cross a street, the driver will cross you. Stay on your side of the street.
* Stop, look and listen. Make eye contact with your driver. Wait until your driver signals you to safely cross.
* Always get on the bus single file. Use the handrails, be polite, no pushing or shoving.
* Obey the bus driver at all times.
* The driver may assign seats for any or all pupils.
* Be courteous and considerate of the bus driver and other students.
* Do not throw paper or other things on the floor of the bus or out the window. A trash can is provided.
* Do not stand up or leave your seats while the bus is in motion.
* Keep your hands, arms and head inside the bus at all times.
* Do not eat or drink on the bus.
* Loud talking or yelling out the window is not allowed.
* Be absolutely quiet when the bus is approaching a crossing or a railroad track.
* Fighting and scuffling will not be tolerated on the bus or at the bus stop.
* Profane or obscene language will not be tolerated.
* No animals will be allowed on the bus.
* No tobacco, guns or knives allowed on the bus.
* Observe safety precautions when unloading. If it is necessary to cross the street or roadway, cross at least 10 feet in front of the bus and always wait for the driver to signal you across.
As a general rule, parents who wish their child to ride a bus that they are not assigned to must first check with the school and then a written note must be sent to their teacher and the bus driver giving permission for their child to ride. Pupils will not be left off at any place other than their regular stop.
The school district will make every effort to enforce all the above rules and discuss the matter with the pupil(s) involved, contact parents, or assign seats as deemed appropriate.
Drivers may also file a Bus Conduct Report with the principal of the school that the student(s) involved attends.
